| Alveley
is one of many beautiful English Villages steeped
in History. It is recorded in written documents
as far back as 994 (that's over 1000 years ago)
and the name has Saxon Origins. 'Alve' or Aelfythe is a personal
name and 'ley' was the Anglo-Saxon word for 'a
clearing in the forest', thus Alveley means 'the
clearing in the forest owned or founded by
Aelfythe'.
However my interest is a
little more recent. Click here to find out more!
